Sue W. Mason

Most of my prints are either 8" x 10" or 11" x 12".  I use plastic plates, oil-based etching inks and a large etching press to make my prints (technically monotypes). There is a very good description of the difference between monoprints and monotypes  by Frank Howell on the internet, but this is probably way TMI! 
I incorporate several layers by re-inking the plate and using stencils or sometimes a pronto plate (a very thin, flexible plastic sheet which goes through a photocopying machine and which allows me to transfer photographic images or drawn lines). Each print is unique. They are not editions,
